"If success or failure of this planet and of human beings depended on how I am and what I do, how would I be? What would I do?"

~ R. Buckminster Fuller

I didn't know what topic I wanted to cover in this yearend issue of my Ezine and since 'tis the season, I wanted to keep it simple.

A friend of mine gave me a plaque with the "ABC's of Life" and it seemed a perfect way to end the year and start a new one.

Accept differences; Be kind; Count your blessings; Dream; Express thanks; Forgive; Give freely; Harm no one; Imagine more; Jettison anger; Keep confidences; Love truly; Master something; Nurture hope; Open your mind; Pack lightly; Quell rumors; Reciprocate; Seek wisdom; Touch hearts; Understand; Value truth; Win graciously; Xeriscape; Yearn for peace; Zealously support a worthy cause.

As we slip into 2007, I wish for you all, my friends and associates, a new year full of peace and joy and the answer to R. Buckminster Fuller's question above.

If success of this planet and of human beings depended on how you are and what you do. How will you be? What would you do?

Be it and Do it in 2007.

Step into leading and play a Bigger Game in your life... don't wait... model leadership... the World needs us to do this.

Lead strong!

Pat

The Weight of Stress

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?" Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.

In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on.

As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.

So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can.

Relax; pick them up later after you've rested.

Life is short. Enjoy it!"

The Gift

Look in the mirror.
Who do you see there?

Have you fallen in love
again with yourself?

Perhaps you've been away
given yourself to another.

You've dismissed your own gifts
while off chasing wealth.

You've left your laughter
playing with your lost child.

You've forgotten the healing
in your own smiling approval.

Look again in the mirror
as you walk in the door.

You've worked hard enough
for the rest of the world.

Will you rest your eyes
on this old friend?

Will you gaze again with love
on the one person that
can truly know and stay
with you forever?

Come, walk with me
to the mirror.

Take these vows and forgive
the lost time alone.

The Freecycle Network is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns.

Something cool Xerox is doing. Go here, and you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.

You can release the child in you at the www.jacksonpollock.org site.

Testimonial:

"Pat cuts right to the chase, and challenges me to move forward on making steps to take my business to the next level. By asking questions about how I market and sell my services, she found that there are certain areas where I hesitate to go for what I really want. From there she simply asked me why I was making excuses and not taking action! Her questions prompt me to look at my actions, and take action."
